Police seeking public assistance to locate mother charged with assaulting toddler

Lethbridge Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a 43-year-old woman charged in connection with the abuse of her one-year-old son.

Delia Teri Joy Grey is charged with aggravated assault, failing to provide the necessaries of life and criminal negligence causing bodily harm. Grey’s current whereabouts are unknown but she is believed to be in the High Prairie/Atikameg area.

In May 2024, a one-year-old boy was taken to Chinook Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The toddler was later transported to a children’s hospital in critical condition. As a result of the suspicious nature of the injuries, police were contacted. Following a lengthy investigation, police determined the toddler sustained significant blunt force trauma and other inflicted injuries while he was in the care of his mother. She was subsequently charged in late 2024 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Police efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful.

Police are asking anyone who has seen Delia Grey, or has information on her whereabouts to call 403-328-4444. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at www.p3tips.com or 1-800-222-8477. Crime Stoppers will pay cash for information leading to an arrest.

The toddler has been discharged from hospital and is continuing his recovery in the care of relatives.
