Police seeking public assistance to locate male wanted in connection with break-in, firearms offences

Lethbridge Police are seeking assistance to locate a 38-year-old male charged in connection with an armed break and enter. 

Robert Allan George Moczo, of Lethbridge, is charged with the following offences and warrants have been issued for his arrest.

• Use of a firearm while committing on offence
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle
• Unauthorized possession of a firearm
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
• Possession of stolen property under $5,000
• Possession of break-in tools
• Break and enter
• Disguised with intent
• Possession of a firearm with an alerted serial number

The charges stem from an incident July 4, where police responded to a report of two males armed with firearms breaking into a property along Staffordville Crescent North. The subjects fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.  A short time later a vehicle matching the description provided, was located. One male passenger fled on foot and was apprehended by a K9 Unit, while the driver remained inside and drove away. The vehicle was later located parked in a residential area with no one inside, however a firearm was observed on the passenger floor. During a search of the vehicle, police seized a shotgun from inside and two additional shotguns – one of them found to be stolen – from the trunk. In addition, police located a significant quantity of stolen property along with break-in tools inside.

Following further investigation, police identified the second male as Robert Moczo and he was subsequently charged. Moczo’s whereabouts are currently unknown and he is believed to be actively evading arrest.
