Police seeking public assistance to identify sexual assault suspect
Lethbridge Police are releasing a composite sketch of a suspect in connection with the sexual assault of a 14-year-old boy, and anyone who recognizes the male is asked to come forward.
On January 19, police responded to a report of a sexual assault that had occurred two days earlier.
Investigation determined on January 17, a 14-year-old boy was walking along Temple Boulevard at approximately 4:45 p.m. when he was approached by a male in a vehicle, who offered him a ride. The boy accepted and the male proceeded to drive to a secluded westside location. The victim was confined in the vehicle, sexually assaulted and then dropped off at a traffic circle along Metis Trail in Copperwood.
The suspect is described as Caucasian, approximately 30-40 years-old, with a medium build. He was clean shaven, with a pointy noise and some wrinkles on his face. He was wearing a black beanie-style toque with grey hair poking out, black sunglasses, an orange hoodie, black vest, blue jeans, brown belt with a lion on the belt buckle and black/grey winter boots. The male was also described as speaking with a stutter.
In addition to the composite sketch, police have obtained a video surveillance image of the suspect’s vehicle, described as 2013-2020 red, Nissan Altima with black winter rims and chrome trim line on the front grill, door handles, around the windows and strip above the license plate.
Anyone who recognizes the male or his vehicle, or has any information that could assist the investigation, is asked to call police at 403-328-4444 and reference file 25001136.
