Police investigating pedestrian collision involving three children

Lethbridge Police continue to investigate a pedestrian collision earlier this morning that resulted in serious injuries to three young children.

Just after 7:30 a.m., police responded to a report that three children, ages 14, 7 and 5, were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of 13 Avenue and 23 Street North. EMS transported the children to Chinook Regional Hospital and all three were subsequently transported to Calgary for further treatment.

Investigation determined the children were crossing in a marked crosswalk when they were struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on 23 Street North. The driver stopped and remained on scene. 

Charges are pending and the investigation is ongoing. 

No further information is available for release at this time.
