Every month, the Government of Alberta and law enforcement agencies from around the province draw attention to selected areas of traffic safety. 

Traffic Safety Spotlight

  • Police conducting targeted enforcement project to address pedestrian safety

    Lethbridge Police are working with Alberta Sheriffs to conduct a focused traffic project aimed at addressing pedestrian safety, especially around schools and playgrounds in Lethbridge. 

  • Seatbelts Save Lives

    Seatbelts must always be worn, properly adjusted and securely fastened when travelling in a vehicle.

  • Prevent Distracted Driving

    Lethbridge Police, and other law enforcement agencies throughout the province, will be focusing on distracted driving throughout the month of February. Distracted driving is against the law in Alberta.

  • Intersection Safety

    Lethbridge Police are shining the light on the importance of intersection safety as its Select Traffic Enforcement Program for January. 

  • New playground zones to be added for automated traffic enforcement

    Starting in mid-January, an additional 42 Lethbridge playground zones will be added for monitoring by photo radar to help reduce speeding and prevent collisions.
