Traffic Safety

Every month, the Government of Alberta and law enforcement agencies from around the province draw attention to selected areas of traffic safety.

Traffic Safety Spotlight

It’s easy for drivers to fall into the temptation of speeding to save a few minutes off their drive. However, speeding can be extremely dangerous.

  • Education the focus of pedestrian safety traffic enforcement project

Lethbridge Police have wrapped up a month-long pedestrian safety traffic enforcement project that saw officers engage with nearly 300 parents and students, issue 16 tickets, and deliver numerous warnings.

  • Police conducting targeted enforcement project to address pedestrian safety

Lethbridge Police are working with Alberta Sheriffs to conduct a focused traffic project aimed at addressing pedestrian safety, especially around schools and playgrounds in Lethbridge.

  • Seatbelts Save Lives

Seatbelts must always be worn, properly adjusted and securely fastened when travelling in a vehicle.

  • Prevent Distracted Driving

Lethbridge Police, and other law enforcement agencies throughout the province, will be focusing on distracted driving throughout the month of February. Distracted driving is against the law in Alberta.
